here's then next installment of -insert name here-....I really need a name for this story. I'll just call it random bit of writing part 2 and the one after that part 3 and so-on. also updating this on my face-book if anyone cares. and it appears people like it and want more. EXPECTATIONS?!CAN'T.HANDLE.PRESSURE. *dies* ok enough messing around. Here's part 2.
----------------------------------------------
The bus came to a slow stop at the edge of the trees, the grass and shrubs seemed to seep out from between the trees and onto the dry cracked dirt. The driver looked to the armed guard, frightened. He shook his head profusely. The guard frowned at him.

“Well, why’d you stop?” he said in a low voice. The driver began to sweat

“I-I can’t go through there! We’ll not make it to the other side, if there is one! I knew we should’ve taken our chances with the blocked off route but no, we had to take a detour!” he panicked loudly.

“We’ll just have to take our chances then. Now drive!” the guard demanded.

“Didn’t you hear me? We-“

“DRIVE!” he pointed his assault rifle at the driver’s head. He swallowed and slowly proceeded into the forest.

The road only got worse from there, becoming more rough and decrepit as they went.  As they continued the trees got taller and the various plants more exotic, it was insane. Elaine watched out her window carefully, waiting for some giant mutated spider to leap from the underbrush and attack the bus at any minute. No such luck.

“This isn’t right…” Simon mumbled “old forests like this don’t grow…they’re just remnants of the past, small oases, they can’t grow over like this…”
The bus stopped again.

“What now?” the guard growled. “We-we can’t g-go through,” the driver stammered out. “The tree is b-blocking the road,” he pointed out the windshield. The guard looked. He was right; there was a tree smack dab in the middle of the road. Its roots snaked along and into the numerous cracks in the asphalt. The guard glared at the driver.

Elaine stared out the window, losing interest in the driver and guard’s argument. She heard something. It was low, rumbling, like an animal’s growl but not quite. She looked around to see if anyone else could hear it. Only a few other prisoners looked worried, specifically the ones like her, pointed ears indicating their heritage. Slowly, it grew louder.

Simon apparently heard it too. “What’s that noise?” he looked out his own window, trying to see if there was anything outside through dense trees. The whole lot of them started to look panicked.

“Hey driver, what’s the hold up?!” one of the prisoners yelled from the back.

“Pipe down!” the guard barked, “we are trying to resolve the issue, just sit tight.” The guard glanced back at the driver who was frantically trying to contact someone on the radio.

“Why don’t we just back up out of here and turn around?”

“Because we can’t go anywhere else,” the guard replied calmly.

I was going to only post this but since it's short i'll post what I have so far of what I planned to be part 3.so i guess this is intermission.

“Ten bucks says it’s a giant spider,” Elaine grinned, looking over at Simon. He nearly turned is head 180 degrees.

“What?”

“Ten bucks says its giant spider, what do you think it’s gonna be?”

“Eeeeh…” Simon tapped his chin. “A dragon. I Think a huge dragon will rise above the treetops and swoop down to attack the bus,” Simon joked, dramatically waving his hands as best he could. He chuckled.

The prisoner behind Elaine that had remained quiet for so long spoke up. “You think this is a Joke? We could die out here.”  Her voice was quiet, timid, not the voice you would expect from a convict. Elaine turned around, forgetting her chains for the moment and nearly tearing them from the floor.

“Lighten up, would ya? Moping about the inevitable won’t help.”

“And joking about it will?”

Elaine shrugged. “Guess not,” she didn’t feel like arguing.

The rumbling quickly died down, leaving only a few moments of silence. Then suddenly, the ground began shaking with every loud thud that could be heard to the left of the bus. What little silence there was between the loud crashes was quickly filled by the sound of trees bending and breaking and leaves rustling. The armed guard stared out the window. He ran outside and around the bus to the left hand side.

“Guess he’s gonna try and play hero,” Elaine observed from her window. She broke her cuffs in two, tossing them on the ground. She got up, stretched, and stepped over to Simon’s seat. “Alright, I think this is our stop.” She said, quickly tearing the cuffs off and tossing them to the floor with a clunk.

"Are you insane?! if that guard sees us leaving he'll-"

"I'm pretty sure he's too busy watching for whatever demon creature is going to come out of those trees. We'll be fine," she assured, yanking him up to a standing postion by the arm.

“You gonna help the rest of us?” the prisoner from earlier piped up.

“Sure, why not,” she said, annoyed, letting go of simon's arm. She went seat to seat to free everyone. Simon was right. Everyone on the bus was a toxin, she could see their marks when she took the cuffs off. It didn't take long ,thankfully, and everyone frantically left the bus as they were freed, running back down the road to get out.

“What do we do now?” Simon asked,

“Well, going back won’t help,” Elaine looked towards the back of the bus. “Too far to walk anywhere. Only way we can go is forward.” She walked towards the front of the bus. “Unless you want to take your chances wandering around in the forest,” she stepped down. Simon quickly followed. The loud sounds they had somehow managed to ignore stopped. Elaine walked around the bus and saw the origin of the noise.

"Looks like you owe me ten bucks..."
